Job Description: The Role
- Assist the Staffing Specialists with a variety of on-boarding activities to include:
- Analyzing position descriptions to develop job analyses and recruitment packages.
- Training on the agency staffing system.
- Posting job opportunity announcements.
- Reviewing applications for qualification determinations.
- Adjudicating veterans preference.
- Extend offers of employment to selected candidates within the guidelines of Office of Personnel Management compensation policy.
- Draft Tentative and Final offer letters to selected candidates.
- Request employment records via eOPF, OPF, and SF-75 data from losing agency for transfer employees.
- Respond to Applicant inquiries regarding USAJobs announcements.
- Review, prepare, and code Accession SF-52s per the OPM Guide to Coding and Processing.
- Ability to execute a wide range of HR Information Systems, data bases, and retrieval methods to provide data for reporting purposes.
Job Requirements: What You Need to Bring to the Table
- Experience in a Federal HR environment required.
- College Degree in or significant coursework in marine biology, oceanography, fish and wildlife science, environmental science, engineering, hydrology, meteorology, or related highly preferred.
- Ability to apply and interpret Federal HR laws, policies, and agency specific operating procedures.
- Attention to detail, data quality and data integrity.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the government required security check.
