Position Summary
Serve as team member in the implementation and ongoing support of the university’s Word Press and internal portal and other information systems. Assist with management and maintenance of new and existing applications/interfaces to support various offices and the University community. Assist various offices in best practices with respect to content management. Assist with developing best practices, documentation for end users and analysis of use systems; meet with end users to analyze problems and develop solutions; perform other various duties as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical team member for implementation and/or maintenance of various University content management systems (specifically assigned).
- Meet with end users to determine business needs and develop strategies for success.
- Develop, edit and maintain content on assigned systems and third-party applications as necessary, utilizing appropriate technical or programming skills
- Develop and follow best practices with respect to content configuration, data standards, and reporting.
- Manage the processes for training, user setup/access and maintenance, system testing and communications to the user community.
- Collaborate across and outside of the organization with users of the university portal to understand their various needs
- Conduct day-to-day university portal content maintenance
- Document all requirement gathering, requests for information and daily activities
- Maintain proper technical staff documentation.
- Assist various users throughout the University as a technical support resource
- Provide technical support for the campus portal.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed knowledge of University processes to facilitate primary responsibilities.
- Adhere to all policy and procedure within the Office of Information Technology as well as all University policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in content management or digital media.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Word Press.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while keeping a customer service attitude.
- Experience with relational databases, Oracle, SQL Server.
- Experiences with programming languages: PL/SQL, Java, .NET web development, XML, TSQL
