Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Interim Director of Accounting and Budget the Financial Analyst will aid in the development, implementation and analysis of various campus budgets totaling more than $90 million. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated, team-orientated individual wishing to join a professional staff in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Process Change of Status (COS) forms;
- Execute Allocation moves as well as expenditure journal; transfers, including coordinating Intra-Agency and Inter-Agency transfers and p-card account number changes;
- Project and monitor the adjunct budget as well as Summer Session, J-term and Health Center fee budgets;
- Track and monitor Stipend expenditures (including Graduate Assistants);
- Assign and track line numbers for Adjuncts, Grad Assistants and other temporary employees;
- Perform bi-weekly payroll reconciliation as well as periodic payroll audits;
- Provide account analyses, closeouts, reconciliations, and audits;
- Design and produce reports using database or spreadsheet software including SUNY Business Intelligence (BI);
- Provide information for economic impact and various surveys;
- Update and monitor cash flow for the Residence Hall funds (DIFR);
- Perform Salary and Revenue projections for DIFR;
- Assist with completion of the Form 1, Financial Management Strategy documents, and Budget Book;
- Perform year-end closing procedures including monitoring Segregation balances;
- Assist Human Resources with verifications for Discretionary Salary Increases (DSI);
- Assist with the preparation of the New York State Summer School for the Arts (NYSSSA) Program budget and invoice;
- Serve as the backup Security Administrator and TouchNet Administrator;
- Compile monthly recharge information and complete journal transfers and invoicing as needed;
- Assist with tracking and monitoring all new SUNY funding initiatives;
- Maintain Chart of Accounts and BI Account group security;
- Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession;
- Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
- Background in business/finance/accounting;
- Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years significant administrative experience;
- Experience in a higher education business, accounting or budget office;
- Experience with the SUNY accounting system;
- Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence (BI).
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, UUP represented, term appointed position with an annual salary of $55,200 - $58,000 (commensurate with experience) beginning January 2, 2025.
