Support Services Investigator
The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking qualified individuals to perform service of process of legal documents relating to child support actions and proceedings; prepare forms to establish service of documents; conduct investigations to locate respondents; maintain daily and monthly reports of activities; and update the child support automated computer system with locate information and service of process attempts.
Starting salary; $48,062 - plus State of Connecticut benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to think and act quickly with judgment and discretion; ability to utilize automated information systems; ability to utilize interviewing
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
General Experience: Graduation from high school (or GED certification) and two years of experience in investigations, collections, law enforcement, security, clerical, social services, or a related field.
Substitutions Allowed: College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of one year.
SPECIAL EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and a motor vehicle available for daily use.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbents may be exposed to some risk of injury from assaultive/abusive clients.
