Social Work Case Manager - Adult Protection Investigator
Seeking enthusiastic, dedicated professionals to provide protection services for Vulnerable Adults; conducts time sensitive investigations on allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation; provides case management services.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires at least a bachelor degree in social work, psychology, nursing, human services, or related field and at least two years of professional social work experience working directly with clients. Master’s degree & bilingual abilities are desirable. Must possess a valid driver’s license & provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities.
Hiring Range: $59,838 - $74,798 Depends on Qualification.

Essential Duties
Conducts thorough investigations within required time frames:
- Interviews and obtains statements from the Vulnerable Adult and potential witnesses concerning the allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Completes Safety Assessments, Strength and Needs Assessments, and Safety Plans when applicable
- Completes required documentation, writes and enters clear and organized data for reports, summarizes the facts obtained during the investigation to determine whether abuse, neglect, or exploitation has occurred
- Collects evidence pertinent to the investigation such as progress notes, medical records, photographs, and physical evidence
- Researches, obtains, and analyzes complex financial and medical documents
- Makes independent determinations on allegations, as well as in consultation with supervisors and peers
- Collaborates with law enforcement, county attorney, and other community partners
- Determines which reports require immediate adult protective services and initiate
- Has an understanding of the Vulnerable Adult Law, conservator/guardianship laws and applicable criminal statues and have the ability to apply these laws to case situations.
- Maintains working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations and performs work accordingly
Provides Protection Services:
- Makes independent decisions in the field regarding protection and safety concerns
- Initiates interventions such as: contacting 911, working with colleagues on an emergency transport hold, removal of an alleged perpetrator
- Arranges for court ordered intervention, guardianship, and attends court hearings when required
- Mobilizes community resources to provide protective services to remedy the reported maltreatment and reduce the risk of further abuse, neglect or financial exploitation
Provide Case Management Services:
- Visits clients in their home or other residence in the community.
- Coordinates and offers community resources to address need and reduce risk
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with special problems of the aged and disabled populations
- Knowledge of crisis intervention skills and techniques
- Understanding of differing cultures/ethnic groups and values
- Ability to analyze complex financial statements
- Ability to work effectively with difficult abuse/neglect complaints
- Ability to empathize, provide encouragement to disabled adults and the elderly, and to help them meet particular needs and alleviate problems
- Excellent oral and written communication, especially grammar and punctuation
- Ability to operate a personal computer and various software packages
Attends staff meetings and participates in continuous training
Maintains working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations and performs work accordingly.
Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors, and any other person or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
