Programmer/Analyst (Project)

Description of Duties (This is a brief summary of the hiring department and the duties of the role):

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Lead Systems Analyst to join our research team. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background in computer sciences or computer engineering, coupled with exceptional programming skills across various platforms and languages. They should possess expertise in Linux, compiling processes, and navigating High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. Additionally, experience in developing digital dashboards and services is highly desirable, along with a preference for familiarity with cloud computing services. The successful candidate will be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with excellent written and oral communication skills. The position will contribute to the Coastal Urban Environments Research Group led by Prof. González-Cruz.

Minimum Qualifications (Both measurable and soft skill requirements):

  • BS or MS degree in computer sciences, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, and others as needed.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, including compiling processes and navigating HPC environments.
  • Experience with HPC clusters with a preference with the SLURM scheduler.
  • Experience in developing digital dashboards and services.
  • Experience with cloud computing services preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
