CANR Web Platforms Trainer
Position Summary
Acts as a training expert supporting college communications platforms such as the content management system, events management system, social media platforms, newsletter platforms and other similar systems. Trains internal clients in platform use and best practices, working with experts in areas such as website creation, social media, event coordination, and digital accessibility. Serves as a customer service point of contact between internal clients and other related resources such as the service desk, student employees, web team, and other related teams. Maintains contact with college communicators and advocates for client needs in ways that help improve the usability and efficacy of college communication platforms. Primary duties will include the creation of documentation and training videos, training of staff and educators in communication platforms and best practices, customer service, and related tasks for clients in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, MSU Extension, and AgBioResearch.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Systems development, Instructional Technology Systems, Instructional Science or a related educational programs development area, and/or a field related to the area of expertise; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the design, development and presentation of instructional programs using software or tools related to the educational programs being conducted; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Good verbal and written communications; comfortable with a broad scope of work, independently setting priorities and goals; experience with website creation and digital marketing highly desired; experience with the use of content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing systems, or similar systems desired; familiarity with digital accessibility, usability, user experience, task management, ticketing systems, and web analytics a plus.
