POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is seeking a Director of Operations to join the Health Care Network team of professionals.
Duties Include:
- Leads the overall operations, financial stewardship, management, and direction for the physician health practice for FIU Health.
- Manages and builds high quality functioning teams by collaborating with senior management, managers, and supervisors to manage team performance and ensure operational problems are resolved.
- Establishes and directs standing physician practice meetings with practice managers and other team members.
- Optimizes practice operations by evaluating process flows and optimizing operations to increase revenue.
- Collaborates with Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/Informatics and IT Leadership, Quality and Risk Management and other departments/ programs to optimize system utilization, functionality, and knowledge.
- Collaborates with the leadership team in the strategic planning and growth of the physician practice.
- Responsible for the development of managing reports to maximize operational efficiency.
- Serves as Project Manager for special projects as assigned.
- Performs routine functions using the University credit card on behalf of the department in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Performs essential duties in emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification from a department administrator.
- Performs other related duties as required or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration or related field and six (6) years of related work experience, or Master's degree in healthcare, business administration or related field and four (4) years of related work experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of experience in a clinical leadership role.
Experience managing a group practice, preferably in primary care or other specialties such as gynecology, dermatology, and/or behavioral health.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
