General Description of Position:
The Director is responsible for technology services for Calhoun ISD and local districts as related to technology services, Internet services and two-county fiber network oversight. Provide leadership for ISD and districts in current and upcoming technology. Maintain a technical service model for districts by prioritizing, managing projects and assigning staff to appropriate projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Ongoing Project Manager for technology services. Includes, but not limited to: working closely with districts in determining project objectives and time lines, assigning appropriate Technology staff to projects, following through to ensure satisfactory project completion.
• Communications: key communicator to districts on technology services/needs - not only assessing and meeting districts' current needs, but also looking to future needs to meet upcoming trends.
• Provide leadership to districts on technology services through developing standards, effective project planning, evaluation and recommending /implementing necessary improvements.
• Provide technology consultation, establishing contracts for projects when appropriate, by assisting regional customers in the planning and implementation of technology projects.
• Provide leadership to districts in developing research based standards and designing the network infrastructure necessary to meet the Informational Systems and Organizational Systems needs of the districts.
• Responsible for overseeing hardware and infrastructure support necessary for both ISD and the local districts that have contracted with us for support.
• Responsible for making sure the ISD fiber networks are compliant with Federal and State standards and regulations; maintain related equipment and license inventory.
• Oversee fiber network technical needs (repair and maintenance).
• Primary contact for Internet Service Provider, Office Data and Student Data Software vendor(s); liaison with various vendors related to services provided.
• Supervision of Student Data, Office Data and Technology Services staff.
• Coordinate and communicate projects with Assistant Superintendent for Regional Technology Services.
• Keep abreast of innovations and newer technologies.
• Maintain regular consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Adhere to district health and safety procedures.
• Adhere to Board policies.
• Maintain confidentiality.
Education and/or Experience:
Required
• Bachelor's Degree in computer-related field or equivalent work.
• Five years of experience in related technical field.
• Problem solving and communication skills.
• Project management.
• Experience managing and setting budgets.
• Experience in configuring and maintaining Fiber networks, Windows networks, phone systems, routers, switches and firewalls.
Preferred
• Experience managing and directing staff.
• Experience delivering managed technology services.
Working knowledge of:
1. Google applications
2. Proxy servers
3. Linux
• Microsoft or Cisco certification(s)
Salary Range:
$73,889 - $103,513 (228 days/year)
