CASE MANAGER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS

 

Bridgewater College and the Office of Student Life invites applicants for a Case Manager for Student Success. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Student Life, the Case Manager for Student Success provides case management and resolution services to students through interventions, referrals, and connections with campus and area resources to address student needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Though not exhaustive, essential responsibilities of the Case Manager include the following:

  • Assisting the AVP in managing the CARE Team caseload and supplementing the campus response to student complaints. This includes recording notes, providing referrals, follow-up, and case management to students, and collaborating and communicating with CARE members as needed.
  • Working with individual students to develop holistic preventative wellness-oriented interventions.
  • Collaborating and consulting with faculty, staff, academic departments, off-campus stakeholders, parents, and families to minimize academic disruptions and assist in resolving challenges impacting student success.
  • In collaboration with the Wellness Education Director, develop and implement prevention-oriented programming, workshops, and trainings that address student well-being.
  • Assisting the Director of Residential Life and Community Standards with the resolution of large-scale student conduct cases, or those that significantly impact the campus community, including sanction management and case audits in Maxient.
  • Serve as a member of the College’s Clery team to provide timely, accurate and complete data for Clery reports.
  • Assist with the management of the day-to-day operations of the department.

Additionally, considered an essential partner to the developmental goals of Student Life, the Case Manager will foster campus engagement with prevention, restorative, and mental health resources on campus, while providing a holistic and supportive response to student needs and behavioral issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Essential qualifications include

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Previous experience and a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse individuals
  • Experience with, and a commitment to, utilizing restorative practices
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience and familiarity with Motivational Interviewing (MI) practices
  • Experience working with students in emergent situations
  • Familiarity with FERPA

Additional and preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Maxient software
  • Previous experience advising college students in an academic or student affairs capacity
