The Arc Caddo-Bossier located in Shreveport, Louisiana is seeking a dedicated, innovative and experienced leader to become its next Executive Director. Over the course of the past six decades, tremendous progress has been made across Louisiana and the nation in support of children and adults with disabilities and their families. We seek a leader who will build on recent progress, continue the agency forward trajectory and also address any challenges the agency will encounter.
For 66 years The Arc Caddo-Bossier a private, non-profit agency has been an important resource for people with disabilities and their families. The organization has several divisions including: Children's Services - Goldman School and Child Development Center, Early Intervention Site, Early Head Start and Training and Technical Assistance; Community Living - Community Homes, Community Living Supports and Services, Respite Care; Employment - Frost Industries and James Conly Plant; GREAT - Great Results Equine Assisted Therapies; and Advocacy - People First and Advocacy Services. The Arc currently serves more than 700 children, adults and their families. We are the proud employer for more than 650 individuals in our community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
- Serves as the Executive Director of The Arc Caddo-Bossier.
- Provides staff support to the agency’s Board of Directors.
- Ensures that the agency has a viable funding and financial management system.
- Ensures that the agency has the necessary infrastructure to support its activities.
- Lead with integrity and humility as a champion advocating for people with disabilities and build a statewide consensus with diverse stakeholders and communities on strategies to realize the goal of dramatically improving outcomes for people with disabilities.
- Ensures that the agency has the necessary staffing to support its goals, objectives and activities.
- Approves and monitors all contracts and grants.
- Oversees and monitors the annual budget, plan and the strategic plan.
- Represents the agency to the general public, including the media.
- Performs community outreach including public speeches and presentations, as feasible.
- Maintains active involvement on boards and task forces, as feasible.
- Chairs management meetings.
- Performs accounting assistance as per accounting manual.
- Advances statewide strategy to increase access to Early Childhood learning opportunities and adult workforce services.
- Enforces all laws governing a private non-profit agency with integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, an advanced degree preferred in public administration, social sciences, education, accounting and/or other related area.
- Five to ten years of demonstrated experience in building, retaining, managing and growing
strong mission-aligned teams particularly in support of people with disabilities.
- Minimum of five years supervisory leadership, administrative, and managerial expertise
and success in complex professional environments.
- Advocate for developing and implementing state and federal policies in support of people with disabilities
- Experience managing large organizations and shifting budgets
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and communities
- Experience with outcomes and evaluation, grant compliance, grant writing, fundraising and program development.
- Demonstrated evidence of utilizing high quality research and data analytics to support the
adoption of innovative strategies for the solution of persistent non-profit challenges
- Experience building consensus around priorities and goals by engaging diverse and sometimes opposing perspectives
- Skills in working with constituents and policy making partners, including the Legislature,
other state agencies, and local officials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong training skills.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Valid drivers’ license/insurance and availability of dependable automobile.
- Some travel in-state and out-of-state required.
- Proficiency preferred in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software.
- Must be able to commit long hours to position, including working some weekends.
COMPENSATION
The compensation package is competitive and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience.
